My projects
Fire Safety
I designed the fire safety course with the employees of a restaurant in mind. This training is intended for adult learners. I used a design document to start my analysis. The important topics covered are how to prevent a fire, extinguish a grease fire (dos and don'ts), plan if a fire inevitably happens, and use a fire extinguisher. I chose to use a rollover interaction with a kitchen scene to highlight fire prevention. There is also a scenario-based learning slide where the participant has to decide what they would do if there was a fire. I also created several click-to-reveal activities to keep the course moving and interactive. I included flip card interactions, drag-and-drop activities, and a quiz to end the course.
Time Management
In the Time Management project, the issue that is explored is a few methods to use your time effectively. This is a very essential topic for adult learners. Simple adjustments can boost worker productivity tremendously. The tools I used were Adobe Captivate and Vyond. I used the ADDIE model to create this project. First, I analyzed different time management methods. I made a design document to map out my process. Then, I formulated a scenario-based interaction where the employees have trouble turning in their work on time. I offer solutions such as describing how to use the Pomodoro method and the 80/20 method to solve this problem. There are quiz questions to see what the participants have learned about time management. At the end of the course, there is a summary and a quick knowledge check.
Geology Course
The Geology course is a basic introduction to the study of rocks. I used the ADDIE instructional model to design the course. It was created using Articulate Storyline. First, I researched content about rocks and analyzed what content to include. I consulted with a subject matter expert to make the final choices about the learning material. I wrote a design document to map out my process. There is a flip card interaction, slider interaction, and drag-and-drop activity in the course. There are quiz questions to see what level of learning the participants gained from viewing the course. At the end, there is a summary and a quick knowledge check.
Angry Customer
In the Angry Customer project, the problem at hand is losing customers due to poor customer service. The tool I used was Adobe Captivate. The audience is adult learners. I used the ADDIE model to create this project. First, I analyzed the issue of an angry customer and what not to do. I made a design document to map out my process. Then, I formulated a scenario-based interaction where the participant should think about what to do with a customer who received the wrong order. Next, I explored the correct process of working with a disgruntled customer. Following this, I included another scenario to practice what the participants have learned so far. To review what the participants have learned about customer service, there is a drag-and-drop activity. At the end of the course, there is a knowledge check and summary.
